Keeping
in mind the requirements of food grade industry, the material used for oil
packing machines is thoroughly tested and checked before being used for
construction. Stainless steel is one of the most common material used for
construction. This precaution is taken because in most of the cases, the
machine that is used for packing coconut oil, lube oil etc, is also used for
filling and packing edible oil.
These machines can be manually operated, semi automatic or fully automatic.
Accordingly, their features also differ. Most of the fully automatic
machines can carry all the three operations, form, fill & seal. They can
be mechanical or pneumatic.
Another classification can be made on the basis that whether these oil
packing machines are used for packing oil sachets or pouches, bottles or
cups.
The pouch packing oil machines can be in two versions:
- Center Sealing
- Side Sealing

Though available in standard dimensions, these machines can be
easily manufactured to suit specific requirements. Depending on the material
of pouch (eg L.D.P. E laminated film) or bottle, the head attachment also
differs.
Some of the features that are important while selecting an oil packing
machine are:

- Fast change over of pouch size or filling volume
- The quantity to be filled can be altered by adjusting the gate
valve or any though other mode
- Simplified operation and low maintenance
- Type of actuation and installation

With an increasing health consciousness, the regulations now also
require the machine to have some registration. In this, "photoelectric
mark registration system" for precise cutting and sealing of the
pouches can be provided.
