Form Fill and Seal Machines
They are the machines that involve the package forming, filling and
sealing. These machines generally use heat sealable plastic film that is
formed into a package, filled horizontally or vertically and transported in
the same manner for sealing. The horizontal packaging is used for solid food
stuff. The vertical machine forms a tube,fills with liquid, powders or other
runny substances and sealed.
Horizontal
form fill and seal machines can be of following types:
- Flow wrapping machine has a film reel mounted above the
operating level, the product is loaded horizontally and a
longitudinal seal is formed below the pack.
- Lower reel flow wrapping machine has film reel mounted
below the operating level, product is placed on to the film web and
a longitudinal seal is formed above the pack.
- Edge sealing machine has a horizontal web of film on
which the product is placed and then sealed to another web placed
above it.
- Sachet form, fill and seal machine forms the packs sealed
on 2 or more sides, filled vertically, sealed on the remaining side
and moved horizontally with the pack vertical.
Vertical form fill and seal machines can
be of following types:
- Vertical form, fill and seal machine for cartons uses a
heavy paper laminate, which is formed, filled with product and
sealed to produce a pack resembling a carton.
- Vertical sachet form, fill and seal machine uses one or
two webs of film which are formed, filled and sealed to produce a
one side open sachet.
- Strip packing machine produces strips of individually
sealed sachet packs joined together in predetermined lengths.
Further there are deep draw form fill and seal machines
that use deformable material, deformed by pressure or heat to form the
pack and there are blow mould machines that mould the plastic
into a pack. |
