Binding Machines

Binding machines give the document a professional and attractive look with
an aim to protect it from any loss or damage.
Types
- Comb Binding Machine
This machine uses an inexpensive plastic binding element which is
easy to use and is available in different colours. It is a lie-flat
binding and it does not need the reader to hold the page lest it
flips. The pages can easily be extracted and inserted in the
document without damaging the document. One can select the colour of
the comb and the cover as per the purpose of the document. Comb
binding machines are mostly used for sales presentation, reports and
surveys.

- Wire Binding Machines
This machine also creates lay flat documents. The wires can be
double loop or spiral. It requires a punching machine and a wire
closer. It is a permanent lay flat binding. The double loop binding
is the more preferred option. The document is first punched and then
the wire is crimped into it. For the double loop or the twin loop
wire, any shape of hole punch can be used but the spiral wire
requires a round hole.
- Coil Binding Machines
Coil binding machine is also an inexpensive and a fast process.
Coil binding machine operates with a plastic PVC inserted through
punched holes where the ends are cut and crimped. This technique is
preferred by companies to hastily create presentable documents. This
binding also has the lay flat property. It is generally used for
binding the presentation material for the presenter as well as the
audience. The coil and the cover colour can be customized.
- Combination Binding Machines
These machines generally use multiple binding elements of which
plastic combs and double-loop wire are the most common. This machine
is logically very inexpensive when it comes to the use of both the
elements operated in a single machine.
- Velo Binding Machines
This machine does not involve any wires or coils. It gives the
document a more even and permanent look. The process is very fast
and easy. The punched documents are clamped together using two thin
plastic sheets. One strip is pronged at the front and the other
holed at the back. It is a permanent and tamper proof document
binding. It is suitable for reports, proposals or at times even for
the hard cover books.
- Thermal Binding Machines
This machine is fast and has a simple way of binding. It does not
involve any cutting or punching. The document is slipped into a
cover with sticking spine. It is then placed into the thermal
binding machine. The heat makes the adhesive stick to the cover and
the spine of the document. It is a stronger bond than the wire and
the comb types and permanent also. A thermal cover can also be used
if a separate cover is not required.
- Glue Binding Machine
This machine is suitable for notepads and slip pads. It is also
called the padding press. It converts stacks of paper into pads. The
paper is fastened at the base of the machine. Glue is applied to one
end that sticks the stack together. Once the glue dries, the pad is
ready, it can be cut to the required size.
